VOLUNTEER.

Our non-profit depends on volunteers to run the cafe as we have limited full-time staff. Our volunteers allow us to be able to offer free meals with dignity as well as invite the community into our mission. No special skills are required! We’re just looking for people that enjoy learning, serving in their community and meeting new people. 

If you are not feeling well, please let us know, and reschedule your shift.

Rules + Recommendations

  • If you cancel or no show three times, you will no longer be approved to volunteer at CAFE 180

  • Leave valuables locked in the car

  • We ask that all volunteers be at least 10 years of age

  • Must be 14 years of age to volunteer without parent/guardian supervision

Personal Hygiene

  • Hair tied back

  • NO crop tops, shorts or tank tops

  • You are welcome to wear a hat

  • Closed toe shoes only

  • No jewelry except one ring and one watch (no watch is recommended)

  • Wear clean clothes which you don't mind getting dirty

  • Aprons are available

  • Cancel and stay home if you are feeling sick

Kitchen Rules

  • Read all signs in the kitchen which point out rules

  • No eating or drinking in the kitchen

  • Wash hands and gloves every time you CHANGE a task

  • Wash hands at designated handwashing sink

  • Always use compost & recycle bins when possible, ask if you are unsure

HOW TO SIGN UP.

We use POINT App to schedule and manage our volunteers.

CREATE AN ACCOUNT

  • Click here to go to the Point App website

    There is also an option to download the app on your phone but this is not necessary (iPhone, Android).

  • Create your account with your email or Google, Apple or Okta account.

  • Once logged in, you will see a prompt to “Join an Organization”.

  • Search "Cafe 180".

  • Click the orange "Join" button.

    Even though you will see a message that says you need to be approved, the approval is automatic and you are ready to sign up.

  • Click “View”.

  • You will be taken to available volunteer shifts.

  • Choose your desired date and time.
